Event narrative

Main Street in Johnson City had two feet of water over it and Carver Park was also flooded. Flooding was also observed north of Johnson City on Austin Springs road.

Wider weather episode

A buoyant environment, ahead of a cold front and an upper low, sparks several rounds of scattered thunderstorms in eastern Tennessee. A few instances of localized flooding occurred as a result.
