Event narrative

Thunderstorm winds downed trees within an area around two miles west-southwest of Gladys to around Gladys. Specifically, a tree was downed on Mitchell Road, blocking both lanes of travel. Additionally, a tree was downed near the intersection of Long Island Road and Gladys Road. Finally, a couple of trees were downed in Gladys. Damage values are estimated.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front was centered over the region and was the trigger for several showers and storms. Some of these storms produced damaging winds which brought down many trees. Lightning from one thunderstorm struck a tree, which caught on fire, in Campbell county.
