The Weatherflow sensor at Tybee Island (XTYB) measured wind gusts of at least 34 knots between 951 PM and 956 PM with a peak wind gust of 46 knots at 951 PM.

Strong instability, moderate levels of downdraft CAPE, ample bulk shear and a passing mid-level shortwave led to an environment supportive of strong/severe thunderstorms upstream, before activity approached the coast and entered coastal waters with a cold front during evening hours.
