Wind gust was measured on a Tempest Weather Station in the Bogue Sound via WeatherFlow as thunderstorms moved across the area.

Wider weather episode

Tropical moisture continued to surge northwards as an area of low pressure centered in northern South Carolina continued to move further inland. A line of shower and thunderstorm activity along the southern periphery of this low tracked along the Crystal Coast during the overnight hours between September 16th and September 17th with a few of these storms becoming strong to severe in nature bringing strong wind gusts to the Crystal Coast.
