Thunderstorms developed in the southern Nebraska Panhandle during the early evening hours of August 13th. This activity initiated along a surface trough of low pressure. As activity tracked to the east-southeast, it became severe across the southeastern Nebraska Panhandle and southwestern Nebraska. Wind gusts up to 75 MPH were reported with this activity over far southwestern Nebraska.
