Wider weather episode
With a mid-level monsoonal moisture plume already in place, and a passing shortwave trough in the upper levels, a few strong to severe storms developed over portions of the plains from the 12th thru 13th of August, and also resulted in some heavy amounts of rain over El Paso County. A wet microburst from a thunderstorm also produced wind damage around the city of Pueblo due to brief gusty winds being greater than hurricane force.
