Wider weather episode

Yet another cold front impacted eastern Kentucky during the day on August 31st, rounding out the month. This time the cold front approached the state, then stalled out. Meanwhile, WPC still analyzed a surface boundary that continued eastward and through the state during the first half of the day. Then by the late afternoon hours, the actual front began to progress eastward again. This ultimately led to multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms across the region, starting with the initial boundary mid-day, and then ramping up in coverage by the afternoon hours ahead of the actual cold front. Multiple reports of severe winds and wind damage were reported across JKL's area, though Fleming, Morgan, and Johnson counties received the majority of the damage.
