Thunderstorms for this event initially developed along a sea breeze boundary along the Mississippi coast. One storm on the east side of the Pearl River, began to propagate westward, possibly due to slightly more instability on the western side of the storm created by increased low level moisture typically found in river basins. The thunderstorm reached severe limits as it moved across Washington Parish, producing wind damage across the parish.
