Event narrative
Hunter road was reported to be underwater
for several miles. Water was deep and moving
swiftly. Around 10 PM, a swift water rescue
was conducted by airboat to rescue two
people whose car was stranded in the
floodwaters along Hunter Rd. The people were
rescued from the roof of their car. Hunter
Rd has been closed due to impassable
flooding.
Wider weather episode
A surface front continued to meander near the FL-GA state line. This feature combined with a very saturated airmass and slow steering flow promoted pockets of heavy rainfall where diurnally enhanced convection developed across NE FL.
