The Astoria Megler Bridge had a peak wind of 61 mph at 2310 PST. Winds at observation sites started to increase over 50 mph around 2130 PST and finally decreased to below 50 mph at 0200 PST. Sites that met criteria for sustained winds of 40 mph or higher and/or gusts over 58 mph include the Oregon DOT site at the Astoria-Megler Bridge and Clatsop Spit (NWS Mesonet).

Wider weather episode

Strong upper level low with cold front created high winds from the Long Beach Peninsula south to the central Oregon Coast.
