Event narrative

The Verdure Creek Fire started in mid October 6 miles southwest of Monticello, Utah about a half mile north of the Blue Mountain Estates ranch home subdivision due to an undetermined cause. The fire grew to 157 acres before it was contained in late October. The estimated final cost was $3 million. The homes were not impacted as fire crews were able to contain and suppress the fire.
