2024-09-10 to 2024-09-30 · Lyon, Kentucky
Wider weather episode
Dry weather from early August into September resulted in drought conditions (D2) developing mid-September for much of Western Kentucky. Field and brush fire risk increased early September. Rain from the remnants of Hurricane Francine and heavy rain on the 23rd in the Pennyrile helped limit the worsening of drought conditions mid-month, while significant rainfall late September from the remnants of Hurricane Helene brought a rapid end to the drought.
