A hiker called 911 at 7 AM on Monday and reported that they had seen a boat capsize off Mussel Point and Bodega Head with two people onboard. The boat was 20 feet long and manufactured by Boston Whaler. A man was found dead on Bodega Dunes Beach at 7:40 AM. His companion remains missing.
A Small Craft Advisory was in effect for the waters off Bodega bay at the time of the advisory. Mean wave direction was WNW with heights ranging between 8 and 12 feet at the Bodega Bay Buoy (Station 46013) during the pre-dawn hours on Monday (11/4). NNW to NW winds ranged between 13 and 19 knots with peak gusts around 25 knots during the pre-dawn hours on Monday (11/4).
