A mid-level shortwave and upper jet support promoted the development of scattered thunderstorms across portions of far southern Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia during the early to middle afternoon hours of September 21st. Deep-layer shear supported storm organization and rotation, leading to several instances of damaging wind, and a couple isolated reports of large hail.
