Event narrative
To start October, the middle strip and southeastern corner remained in D-2 Severe drought, but the northeastern quarter of the county worsened to D-3 Extreme drought.
On the second week of October, the western half of the county worsened to D-2 Severe drought and all of the eastern half of Eastern Roosevelt County worsened to D-3 Extreme drought. On the third week of October, the western quarter of Eastern Roosevelt County had worsened to D-2 Severe drought, with the eastern three quarters of the county now all in D-3 Extreme drought. These conditions would remain the same through the end of the month.

Above normal temperatures and dry conditions during October allowed drought conditions to continue.
