Event narrative

A trained spotter near 26 mile Haines Highway reported 7.5 inches of new snow over a duration of approximately 6 hours. The spotter noted that snow became heavy after 9am on the 7th and had all but ended as of the time of observation at 230pm. A COOP report the next day from Haines Customs further up the highway recorded 6 inches of new snow.

Wider weather episode

A front moving N across the panhandle brought snow to the Haines and Klondike Highways, with the Haines Highway receiving the greatest snow totals.
