Event narrative

The Homestead Complex of Wildfires was discovered on July 19th around 600 PM PST. The complex consists of 7 fires, eventually consolidating to 4 fires. The fires started 15 to 30 miles northeast of Glide in Douglas County, Oregon. The fires were lightning caused. As of 530 AM PST on October 1st, they had burned 10,041 acres, were 35% contained, no structures had been destroyed, and it had cost $ 71.5M.
