Wider weather episode

Widespread freeze and frost brought an end to the growing season for many locations that did not experience patchy sub-freezing temperatures on the morning of the 16th. Low temperatures in Southern Illinois fell to 28-32 degrees; however, locations near the Wabash Valley remained above freezing, causing the first freeze to fall outside the defined growing season.
