A report from 911 Call center indicated a downed electrical post by KM 1.7 PR-407 Barrio Altozano, sector Los Vega. At the time, strong thunderstorms were passing through with estimated velocities of 40 mph.

Wider weather episode

Increased instability along with elevated low level moisture resulted in energetic showers and thunderstorms developing over Puerto Rico. The rain was heavy enough to leave accumulations of 2 to 3 inches, along with gusty winds, lightning, and even small hail.
