Peak wind gusts of 64 mph were observed at Clines Corners. Additionally, the site observed peak sustained winds of 45 mph.
Wider weather episode
Strong northwest winds quickly developed during the mid to late morning hours across the Central Highlands and western Guadalupe County behind an upper level low departing northeast over the Great Plains. High wind gusts of 58 to 67 mph were observed from Clines Corners to just southeast of Vaughn along U.S. Highway 285. West winds tapered off during the evening hours around sunset.
