Scattered severe thunderstorms developed over north central Oklahoma during the late afternoon of the 30th, ahead of an approaching cold front. These storms developed eastward into eastern Oklahoma during the evening, and eventually evolved into a squall line. One thunderstorm developed just ahead of the organizing line of storms, and became a supercell that produced damaging wind and a couple tornadoes in Ottawa County before being absorbed into the squall line.
