Several locations reported minimum temperatures between 20 and 25 degrees on November 17.

Wider weather episode

A cold and dry airmass pushed into central California on November 16. With clear skies and light winds prevailing the following night, temperatures dropped below the freezing mark along the west side of the San Joaquin Valley for a short time during the early morning of November 17. It was also the first significant freeze of the season for most of the Kern County Desert areas.
