Tropical Storm force sustained winds impacted the Hawk Channel waters offshore the Upper Florida Keys, where the WeatherFlow mesonet station at Carysfort Reef Light measured peak sustained winds of 37 knots with gusts to 48 knots.

Hurricane Helene moved north northeast across the eastern Gulf of Mexico, strengthening to category 2 strength before passing at closest approach 235 statue miles to the west-northwest of Key West on the morning of September 27, 2024. Widespread lower-end tropical storm force winds overspread the Florida Keys coastal waters.
