Tropical Storm force winds overspread Hawk Channel waters along the Lower Florida Keys, with Sand Key Light reporting sustained winds up to 46 knots and gusts to 52 knots.

Hurricane Helene moved north northeast across the eastern Gulf of Mexico, strengthening to category 2 strength before passing at closest approach 235 statue miles to the west-northwest of Key West on the morning of September 27, 2024. Widespread lower-end tropical storm force winds overspread the Florida Keys coastal waters.
