Event narrative

Bath County dispatch reported multiple trees blown down on Kendall Springs Road approximately 1 mile south from the Owingsville city limits and Interstate 64.

Wider weather episode

An upper level trough dropping from the the Upper Great Lakes toward the Mid-Atlantic region dropped a cold front into eastern Kentucky on the evening of 6th. Though shear and instability were unimpressive, dry air aloft and an inverted V-sounding profile were favorable for the generation of gusty winds. A cluster of more sustained thunderstorms approached the I-64 corridor during the evening hours and generated damaging outflow wind gusts near Owingsville before the parent storms weakened with the loss of daytime heating.
