Event narrative

Strong winds associated with a cold front downed a tree onto Briley Parkway near Currey Road in south Nashville. A woman, who was fleeing from authorities, drove around a police barricade and crashed into the fallen tree. The crash killed the driver.

Wider weather episode

A cold front swept through Middle Tennessee late on November 25, 2024, bringing wind gusts of 30 to 45 mph across the area. While these gusts were non-severe, they did cause minor damage to mobile homes in Bethpage and caused a tree to fall in south Nashville. An indirect fatality was attributed to the fallen tree in south Nashville after a reckless driver crashed into the tree.
