Less than 0.10 inches of rainfall since late September caused Severe Drought (D2) intensity to begin on October 22, 2024 across the northern tier of Carroll County. D2 expanded southward to all of Carroll County on October 29, 2024.
Wider weather episode
Areas of both Moderate Drought (D1) and Severe Drought (D2) increased across northern portions of Indiana in a southward direction through the month's first three weeks. A broad swath of D2 over mainly northeastern Indiana expanded westward on October 22, including northern Carroll County. These drought conditions then extended beyond the end of December.
