The combination of strong high pressure over eastern Canada and weak low pressure off the southern New England coast, resulted in north to northeast winds which caused minor to moderate (tidal) coastal flooding over portions of Northampton county adjacent to the Chesapeake Bay. Kiptopeke reached 5 feet at 924 AM on September 19.
