Event narrative
The combination of strong high pressure over eastern Canada and weak low pressure off the southern New England coast, resulted in prolonged northeast, east and southeast winds which caused minor to moderate (tidal) coastal flooding over portions of Currituck county adjacent to the Atlantic coast. Duck reached 6.20 feet MLLW at 1036 am on Saturday, September 21, and 6.14 feet MLLW at 1148 am on Sunday, September 22.
