Event narrative

The combination of strong high pressure over eastern Canada and weak low pressure off the southern New England coast, resulted in prolonged northeast, east and southeast winds which caused minor to moderate (tidal) coastal flooding over portions of Northampton county adjacent to the Chesapeake Bay. Kiptopeke reached 5.13 feet MLLW at 1136 am on Saturday, September 21, 5.29 feet MLLW at 1230 pm on Sunday, September 22, and 5.10 feet MLLW at 130 pm on Monday, September 23.
