Embers from a burn barrel on the southern bank of the Wind River near Riverton, WY sparked a fire during the mid-afternoon hours. Gusty wind spread the fire rapidly to the northeast, with the fire jumping over the Wind River a couple hours after initial ignition. Firefighters were able to contain the fire on the south side of Riverton with minimal property damage. The fire was mostly contained by sunset. In total, the fire burned around 175 acres.
