A public weather station reported wind gusts as high as 61 mph along the Taylor Highway north of Nome.

Wider weather episode

A strong Bering Sea low moved into the southern Bering Sea, producing strong northerly winds with gusts up to 67 mph across St Lawrence Island, the Bering Strait coast, and the Seward Peninsula.
