Winds increased during the morning of October 12th, with the Gambell Marine Exchange C-MAN station reporting frequent gusts of 60 mph and higher. Winds gusted as high as 67 mph. These winds continued through the early evening hours of October 13th before diminishing.
Wider weather episode
A strong Bering Sea low moved into the southern Bering Sea, producing strong northerly winds with gusts up to 67 mph across St Lawrence Island, the Bering Strait coast, and the Seward Peninsula.
