Event narrative
A nearly-vertical, elephant trunk-like, mature waterspout was reported via social media south of the Toms Harbor Cut Bridge. The condensation cloud extended all the way from the cloud base to the surface and a spray ring was present. The movement was northwestward around 10 to 15 knots.
Wider weather episode
A large, mature waterspout was observed southeast of Duck Key in association with a thunderstorm embedded in deeply-moist, confluent lower tropospheric flow.
