A wind gust of 35 knots was measured at a Citizens Weather Observing Program station at the south end of Cudjoe Bay.

Wider weather episode

A trough of low pressure combined with favorable upper level divergence supported strong convective development across the Straits of Florida and Florida Keys. Scattered gale-force wind gusts occurred in association with widespread showers and thunderstorms moving eastward through the Florida Keys.
