Extreme(D3) drought continued over the east and Severe(D2) over the west throughout the month of October. There was no precipitation in Antelope Wells when the monthly average rainfall is 0.73 inches.

Wider weather episode

Another month with below normal precipitation brought a larger area of Severe(D2) and Extreme(D3) drought conditions to southern New Mexico in October.
