Visibility of one eighth of a mile was reported in Merced.

The large high pressure ridge which had built into California on December 9 resulted in warmer temperatures and drier air over the lower elevations during the afternoon of December 9. This resulted in fog forming later and less prevalent in coverage in the San Joaquin Valley during the morning of December 10 although portions of the SR 99 corridor were still impacted. The fog dissipated by late morning.
