Visibility of one eighth of a mile was reported in Hanford. Webcams indicated visibility below 1000 feet in Hanford. Several school districts either opened late or delayed or cancelled bus service due to low visibility.

Wider weather episode

High pressure remained prevalent over California on December 11 resulting in the continuation of mainly clear skies, light winds and inversion conditions over the San Joaquin Valley. This resulted in areas of dense fog forming over the center portion of the valley by sunrise reducing visibility to an eighth of a mile or less in several locations. The fog lifted into a low cloud deck by late morning and dissipated by early afternoon.
