Event narrative

Freezing rain fell across the county with an accumulation of a 0.10 to 0.34, causing a person to fall in Plentywood. Also, severe driving conditions were noted on the Montana DOT 511 website, mainly near and south of Medicine Lake, through the morning.

Wider weather episode

Freezing rain spread northeast across a portion of northeast Montana early Sunday morning. This resulted in 10 injuries, with 4 in Dawson county, 3 in Prairie, and 1 each in Sheridan, Roosevelt and Richland counties. Interstate 94 was closed from Glendive to Miles City from 430 am to approximately 10 am. Severe driving conditions were reported in many areas east of a line from Scobey to Jordan.
