Event narrative

An emergency manager reported 5.5 inches in Lisbon and a Cocorahs observer reported 2.2 inches in Norwich. A few hundred power outages were reported across interior New London from weighted wet snow and wind. More power outages were reported just north of the CWA border, this information was passed along to us by DESPP / DEMHS.

Wider weather episode

A somewhat surprise localized advisory level snow fell with marginal surface temperatures across far northern portions of Southern Connecticut from the late evening hours on December 4th, into the overnight hours of the early morning of December 5th. An upper level disturbance rotated around the base of a longwave trough as the primary surface low tracked well north of the region. Noticeably less to trace amounts of snow fell further south across Southern Connecticut closer to the coast.
