The ASOS at the Yakima Airport and the mesonet station Harra Agrimet recorded temperatures below freezing for 2 to 5 hours the morning of Oct. 18th. Many other stations across Yakima valley recorded temperatures at or below freezing the morning of Oct. 18th.

Wider weather episode

Cold air advection behind a upper trough exit resulted in morning temperatures cooling well below freezing across portions of the lower elevations in southeast Washington and northeast Oregon.
