Hot temperatures 8 to 16 degrees above normal caused record-breaking heat across Southeast Arizona. An Ajo CWOP station reached a high temperature of 103 degrees Fahrenheit and reached Major HeatRisk. The Pima County Medical Examiner confirmed that heat was the primary cause of death for an individual in Ajo.
