Nickel sized hail was reported by a storm chaser.

Wider weather episode

Thunderstorms developed near a boundary stretching from south central into northeast Kansas. Some of the storms intensified in severity across south central and southeast portions of the state. There were 60 to 70 mph winds reported along with up to half dollar sized hail. Some tree damage occurred.
