A low pressure system tracking from the mid-Atlantic States to eastern New England brought a mix of rain and snow to southern Vermont on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024.
Heavy snowfall set up at elevations above 1000 feet with amounts between 7 and 14 inches common. Lower snowfall amounts (1 to 6 inches) occurred in the lower elevations due to some rain mixing in. This snowfall resulted in snow covered and slippery roads impacting Thanksgiving travel.
