Mainly clear skies prevailed across the area during the evening of December 20 as skies cleared out during the afternoon following a morning with widespread dense fog. Areas of dense fog formed in the valley by late evening and continued into the morning of December 21 in some locations. The fog completely dissipated by late morning as an approaching low pressure system provided for mixing to take place.
