Following the departure of the storm that produced widespread precipitation across the area on December 24, skies cleared out on Christmas Eve and areas of dense fog formed along the SR 99 corridor in the San Joaquin Valley reducing visibility to an eighth of a mile for a few hours. Visibility improved by late morning as the fog lifted into a low cloud deck.
