An upper-level system slowly crossed the region, bringing snowfall to the northern Black Hills area. A series of disturbances within the trough brought periods of snowfall over a 2 to 3 day period. The highest snowfall amounts were over the higher elevations of the northern Black Hills, especially favored upslope locations. Snowfall totals of 5 to 12 inches were common across the area, with amounts to near 18 inches over the higher elevations from Cheyenne Crossing to O'Neill Pass. Amounts of 3 to 6 inches were common across much of the northern foothills.
