Event narrative
Snow Squall. Wyoming DOT and the public reported Interstate 80 Westbound closure near milepost 13 due to multiple crashes and a pileup as a result of a snow squall. In the hour preceding the incidents WYDOT RWIS sensors at West Divide and Painter recorded heavy snow and visibility down to between one quarter and one eighth of a mile with an accompanying flash freeze. Gusty winds did not accompany these squalls. Time is approximate.
