Trained spotters and cooperative observers reported 6 to 8 inches of snow across most of the area, with very little wind.

Wider weather episode

A Pacific Storm moved into Montana dumping up to 10 inches of snow near the Musselshell River along the Garfield and Petroleum county border. Hardly any snow was observed along and northeast of a line from Whitewater to Glasgow to Wibaux. Arctic air, with strong east winds, produced wind chills between 25 to 35 degrees below zero across northeast Montana.
