Visibility of one eighth of a mile was reported in Merced.

Mainly clear skies, light winds and residual low level moisture allowed for areas of fog to develop in the San Joaquin Valley overnight during the morning of January 5. The fog impacted travel along SR 99 in the Merced area and along the SR 198 corridor between Visalia and Hanford. The fog dissipated and mixed out by late morning.
